Business EthicsIn offices and boardrooms across America, businessmen and women are working hard at more than just improving company profits; they are shaping the character, work ethics and integrity of their corporate culture. It is the goal of Uncommon Friends Foundation to help support this effort through business ethics roundtables and a recognition of outstanding businesses that exhibit a commitment to business ethics at all levels of the organization.

RoundtablesBusiness Ethics Roundtables are scheduled to focus on an open and frank discussion among chief executives about the biggest challenges faced by business to maintain ethical standards; peer-to-peer advice on improving business ethics; and the most important trends in ethics issues. On June 8, 2006, Uncommon Friends Foundation launched the first in a series of business ethics roundtables in conjunction with the College of Business at Florida Gulf Coast University. This first business ethics roundtable for CEO's in Southwest Florida was led by national leaders in the business ethics field, Dawn-Marie Driscoll, Center for Business Ethics, Bentley College and Francis J. Daly, Director of Ethics Program, Northrop Grumman, retired.Future roundtables will take place regionally throughout the country.
Business Ethics AwardIn 2006 Uncommon Friends Foundation gave the first Uncommon Friends Business Ethics Award to recognize an organization that exemplifies standards of high ethical behavior in how they conduct their daily operations and during times of crises. This award is for an organization that demonstrates a commitment to business ethics at all levels of the organization from line employees to upper management. The award also recognizes a business for its commitment to business ethics in their dealings with their customers, vendors, shareholders, regulators, lenders and the community. The company taking home this coveted award also shows a commitment to business ethics in their marketing, communications and sales practices as well as holding a reputation within their industry and communities for a commitment to business ethics. The 2006 award went to HomeBanc Mortgage Corporation headquartered in Atlanta.
