21st CENTURY SOCIETY OF UNCOMMON FRIENDS
The 21st Century Society of Uncommon Friends was created by the Board of Directors of the Uncommon Friends Foundation to recognize and honor those who have demonstrated their commitment to the foundation and the ethics, moral values and sense of purpose that are its mission. This significant annual support will allow Uncommon Friends Foundation to create new programs for character education in the schools, more scholarships for those desirous of bettering their lives and more business ethics roundtables to encourage dialogue among companies that have a system-wide commitment to business ethics. The society will create a fellowship of philanthropy that will allow the foundation to realize the dream of its founders to speak to future generations of the vital importance of the tenants upon which the foundation is based “a sense of purpose, unending personal growth, a commitment to helping friends, and a spirit of adventure.”
Some of the major programs that the 21st Century Society of Uncommon Friends will support are the Legacy Speakers Series, Business Ethics Roundtables in cooperation with Florida Gulf Coast University and the traveling historical exhibits of the foundation.
“It would be my greatest wish that my ‘uncommon friends’ would speak to today’s generation and inspire them to carry this country to new frontiers with vision, courage and creativity.” – James D. Newton, author “Uncommon Friends”
