PATRICIA C. ARCHAMBAULT, Ed D., NAMED CHARACTER
EDUCATION COORDINATOR FOR UNCOMMON FRIENDS FOUNDATION
SOUTHWEST FLORIDA (June 26, 2006) - The Uncommon Friends Foundation announces
the appointment of Patricia C. Archambault, Ed.D., to the position of
Character Education Coordinator. According to Arlene Roth, Executive
Director of The Foundation, Archambault will be the primary liaison between
the organization and the school systems, both public and private, in
order to increase the use of Uncommon Friends Foundation curricula. Archambault
will work closely with education committees of the organization and be
responsible for carrying out its education program goals. The curricula
is designed to promote character education, leadership and ethics, qualities
that James D. Newton wrote about in his book "Uncommon Friends." The
five uncommon friends of Jim Newton were Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Harvey
Firestone, Dr. Alexis Carrel and Charles Lindbergh.
Dr. Archambault has more than 30 years of experience working in the field
of education. She served as superintendent of schools for 13 years, most
recently with the Dryden School District in Dryden, N.Y. She also served
as director of staff development and curriculum and director of effective
schools for regional educational agencies (BOCES) in Buffalo, NY and Rochester,
NY. Dr. Archambault has a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the
State University of New York at Buffalo, N.Y., and a Master of Science
in education/reading from Elmira College in Elmira, N.Y.
The Uncommon Friends Foundation was established in Southwest Florida in
1993 to instill ethics, moral values and a sense of purpose in tomorrow's
leaders. It is a nonprofit, education organization devoted to enriching
society by promoting the positive values that Jim Newton so respected
