Uncommon Friends Foundation Elects Officers and Board of Directors

FORT MYERS, Fla. (March 31, 2006)—The Uncommon Friends Foundation recently elected officers for 2006-2007. Re-elected for a third term as president is Tom Hoolihan, Jr., a real estate developer with HRG Realty Group of Florida. Newly elected vice-President is Nancy Humphrey, first lady of Fort Myers and Secretary Tammy Surratt, vice president with McDonald Financial Corporation. Serving a second term as Treasurer is Leslie D’Alessandro, CPA with the firm of Wiltshire, Whitley, Richardson, and English.

Newly elected board members are: Dr. Larry Byrnes, Professor of Education at FGCU; Dr. Bob Jones, District Executive Vice President and Campus President of the Lee Campus in Fort Myers for Edison College; Dr. Andrew Mikulaschek, Director of the Department of Trauma & Surgical Critical Care for Lee Memorial Health Systems; Mike Scott, Lee County Sheriff; Bruce Schultz, President and CEO of Southwest Capital Holdings, Inc.; Linda Uhler, Philanthropist; Bob Wigley, Vice President and Director of Great Plains Companies. Other board members re-elected are John Albion, Alexandra Bremner, Berne Davis, Amy Gravina, Robley Greilick, Randall Henderson, Jr., Kerrey Hoolihan, Lenny Katz, Terri Kinsey, Reggie Knight, Dr. David McCormick, Connie McCormick, Ray Murphy, Fran Myers, Dr. David Robinson, Robbie Roepstorff, Dr. Elinor Scricca, Roxie Smith, Ken Sneeden, Sandra Stilwell, Sharon Thierer, Jody Van Cooney, and Steven R. Whitley.

The Uncommon Friends Foundation is a character education foundation whose mission is to instill ethics, moral values, and a sense of purpose in tomorrow’s leaders. The foundation awards needs-based scholarships through recommendations by education and community organizations, recognizes outstanding teachers utilizing the curriculum, and supports the Uncommon Friends in Ethics at Florida Gulf Coast University. FRIENDS FOUNDATION MEMBER-GUEST RECEPTION

FORT MYERS, Fla. (Jan. 20, 2006) – International business and motivational speaker Danny Cox will address members of The Uncommon Friends Foundation and their guests at a member-guest reception on Feb. 2, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Hilton Garden Inn in Fort Myers. Cox’s presentation, “Leadership When the Heat’s On,” is based on his book by the same name.
